In February, 2011, Michigan's Capital Area District Library (CADL) sued the Michigan gun rights organization Michigan Open Carry, Inc. (MOC) seeking an injunction banning firearms in its libraries. I am one of the lawyers that has joined the fight to preserve the gun rights threatened in this case. I have done so because, if the Library succeeds, all Michigan gun owners stand to lose the ability to lawfully carry firearms, openly or concealed, in public places throughout Michigan.
